About

Promoting, providing, and continuously digging for deeper vibes in Raleigh NC (city of oaks).

Oak City Soul is a DJ social club. The word “Soul” in the name doesn’t just represent the style of music that’s preferred. It’s a movement to cultivate and search out soulful experiences in a rapidly expanding city. Vinyl is the medium of choice because it adds depth, character, and charm. It’s tangible and real. As it ages it develops a life of its own. The differences between the analog and digital formats, by some, can be described as more of a feel than a sound.

Injecting soul through the streets of Raleigh by using the grounding, analog vibrations of vinyl.

We’re a home for audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts. We’re here for those who share a passion for digging in dusty crates. For those who enjoy the hunt of rare grooves. We’ve got that sophisticated, classy, timeless vibe cued up for you. This is for the folks who are more curious about the “b side”.

If you have or know of a unique space or place within the city that you think would benefit from the Oak City Soul vibe please contact us.

If you’re a record collector, fellow DJ, producer, or artist and you think this sounds like your cup of tea please drop us a line.

Announcements

Raleigh and surrounding area folks!! I’m excited to be invited back for another Swing Low Sundaze event at Mordecai Beverage Company.
This is an all-styles car cruise-in and record hop. Cool hoopties, lowriders, classics, motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, all are welcome. Cruise on down and link up with other like-minded folks while sipping on a delicious locally brewed beer, listening to great music spun on vinyl by yours truly (DJ Rhymic) with Oak City Soul. I’ll be spinning a selection of boogaloo, funk, souldies and golden oldies. You don’t need a cool car to attend, cruise on down any way you’d like. If you know someone that has a funky ride, please feel free to share with them.
Mordecai Beverage company is located in the recently remodeled Gateway plaza off of Capital and Crabtree blvd. It has plenty of parking, a great outdoor area for hanging out and a bunch of other businesses within the plaza to check out. Bring a hula-hoop, your dancing shoes, maybe a blanket or lawn chair, and come to boogie. If you’d like to bring your car down please drop me a line. Hope to see you there.

Analog dreaming in a digital world.
